CQUPT at a Glance
Founded in 1950, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) is a post-telecom university deployed and constructed emphatically by Chinese government. With the full sponsorship from MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and Chongqing Municipality, the university is a multidisciplinary teaching and research institution that plays a leading role in the field of information communication. This comprehensive university is characterized by its distinctive feature and outstanding superiority, and known as “the birthplace of digital communication in China” and “the cradle of specialists in the information industry”.
Ø 1 campus locates in scenic resort and covers area of 730 acres;
Ø 24,000 full-time students, more than 1,700 full-time faculty members and 22 national and provincial department of scientific and technological innovation team and teaching teams.;

Programs
We offer 48 undergraduate programs, 24 postgraduate programs and 2 PhD programs for international students. All of our courses are professionally accredited or developed in partnerships with relevant professional bodies and our academic staffs are populated with professionals in their fields. Besides, we also offer Chinese language studies program and short-term programs to international students.

Chinese Language Studies Program
Chinese Language Studies Program is open to international students who love Chinese Language and Chinese culture. Students learn Chinese at the CQUPT as a Second Language as full-time general visiting students.
Instruction is divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Students are arranged according to the results of the Chinese placement test after registration at the beginning of the semester. Class size is approximately fifteen students per class. Normally class hours are from Monday to Friday, four academic hours per day, twenty hours per week.
Upon completion of the program students will receive a program certificate and an official transcript. The program is normally one semester or two semesters, but students could apply for extending their study period to at most three semesters in accumulation.
Short-term Programs
We welcome students from all over the world to join our summer short-term programs in July. You will have an opportunity to learn Chinese, experience culture, China’s university life and Chongqing metropolitan city, immersion with Chinese students and visit local corporations.
We also accept the tailored short-term programs, and the time, duration and arrangement of program can be customized.
Accommodation
The university has three halls of residence for international students, giving international students a safe and comfortable base. The three halls of residence are all located on campus and all international students are guaranteed accommodation. Residences have good public transport connections, whether traveling by bus or taxi. The campus is surrounded by many of Chongqing’s key attractions, such as Nan Shan tourist resort, the largest hot-pot street in the world and Night-view tower. Nan Shan shopping center and market is just 5 minute walk away where offer retails and banking opportunities.
The university has 400 single and twin self-catered bedrooms spread across three international students’ residential buildings. The single/twin self-catered rooms feature a :
u All en-suite rooms
u Data connections to access the internet and university network in 100% of the rooms
u On-site laundry facilities
u On-site management teams and on-call staff for emergencies if assistance is needed
u Air-conditioner, refrigerator and cooking facilities
All rooms are non-smoking.
Depending on your requirements, accommodation costs range from 350RMB-700RMB per month (excluding bills)

Note: If applicants’ Chinese language proficiency could not meet the entrance requirement, they need to study the Chinese language first in CQUPT till they pass the HSK4or HSK5.
